So I’ve just had to buy some extra stamps – don’t want any of you lucky folks to pay excess postage prices now!
Stamps on tonight, dispatched tomorrow.
Finally.

I’m afraid we have had no clarifications from the Government yet on how to comply with the new law. We aren’t happy with the situation, nor are UKARA, who have also been chasing it up again this week. The big issues were raised when we were invited to Westminster in March 2016, we were assured that they would be addressed as the bill passed through the houses of parliament.
The sections of the PCA 2017 that affect airsoft are still due to come into force sometime in the spring, via commencement orders. Needless to say, that date is approaching fast and many of us may need to adapt our equipment (HPA and GBB in particular) before that happens.
UKARA and UKAPU are on the case though. Stay tuned, and please pass this information on to the rest of the airsoft community.
Matt Furey-King, Chair UKAPU
Hello to all, firstly I would like to introduce myself as the newly appointed representative for the Midlands area, Based in Worcestershire I will be bringing further engineering and negotiating skills into the fray.
As you will all be aware there is a lot going on at present, don’t be fooled by what appears to be currently a “phoney war” dealing with Government departments is always in spits and starts, a little flurry of information when the PCB obtained assent, then it all seems quiet, BUT there is continued dialog, when the HO finally release the relevant guidance there will be another sudden flurry of activity and all the required information will be available.
So for now sit tight, stay safe and enjoy the improving weather at your sites.
Tim Bradbury, Midlands Representative UKAPU
If you are one of the people who replied “too long didn’t read” (REALLY?!) to our posts about the PCA 2017, or just would like to watch a video to recap on what is going on, have a look at this excellent video posted on YouTube by Templar Airsoft.

Ps. We’ve got nothing extra to report this week, but the gears are turning.
We just want to assure UKAPU members (and the community at large) that the committee is listening to your concerns about the PCA (2017), we are noting them and right now are addressing these issues with government. Same is true of UKARA. They have a lower profile online as we have been asked to do the joint PR and have a bigger social media presence, but UKARA are still reading the various discussions and are most definitely listening to the concerns of the community too.
It looks highly likely that we will receive official guidance before the commencement orders (secondary legislation) are published that bring the relevant parts of the act into force.
