Facebook announcement – May 2nd

Several members have been in touch to ask if provisions in the PCA 2017 have made it mandatory to carry imitation firearms (IF/RIF) or airsoft guns in locked cases. It seems as if many people are under this impression.

This in not the case. In regards to the law on transport of airsoft replicas, nothing has changed. You are not required by law to carry airsoft replicas in locked cases.

Of course when transporting airsoft replicas it’s good practice to carry them in a slip or case. It’s important to make sure that you never alarm a member of the public. People are very wary about firearms at present. So keep them out of sight and don’t draw attention to yourself. You could cause an incident, which could harm the whole airsoft hobby. A good quality slip or case will also protect your investment.

We didn’t get much foot-fall during the Midlands’ Airsoft Fair – but, out of the few questions we were asked, all of them were about HPA.

I’d just like to re-iterate that we’re doing our best to help HPA skirmishers – as well as all other skirmishers.

Due to a combination of all hands being on deck to with the up and coming PCA live date, issues with orders that hopefully seem to have been resolved, and patch stocks for the moment running to zero – patch deliveries will be a bit slow.

Those who have managed to get patches (earliest orders served first) will hopefully get them the middle of next week.

I do apologise for the delay in getting them sent out.

The circular for the relevant sections of the PCA 2017 was released today. This document is where we expected to find the clarifications that the airsoft community has requested. The guidance the Home Office have published here is extremely limited, and we do not expect to receive further clarification in the short term.

As the legislation comes into effect on the 2nd of May, please view the official briefing note from UKARA and UKAPU below

Please stand by. Soon we will be publishing further information on how you can help us get some real answers from the government.

My apologies for the lack of posts this month, behind the scenes we have been rather overwhelmed with dealing with the PCA clarifications, and we are still somewhat understaffed. We’re running a stall at the Midlands Airsoft Fair this Sunday, so if you’ve any questions about the PCA 2017, or are interested in joining our committee, please do pop by for a chat.

Ps. I’m also selling a ton of second hand kit on the stall next door so make sure you bring plenty of cash too!

We’ve updated our constitution to better reflect what sort of organisation we are in TYOOL 2017.

Feel free to have a read; there will be no provisions made for the supply of maple syrup for the waffle that is contained within.
